Tre Turgåere
My idea for Tre Turgåere came to me from my characters. The first character I came up was Skeeter; waist length blonde haired, periwinkle coloured eyes and a reputation of a master thief. I got her name from a Harry Potter character, whose surname is Skeeter. I thought the name Skeeter worked for my character, which, after she gets to know you, is funny, kind and smart. The name is actually male but it means quick and darting, one of Skeeter’s many skills. I planned the character well; her secrets, background, physical appearance, personal struggles, fears and personality. She is the youngest character in the group, as she is 18.
The next character I made was Aila, the main character. I’m still struggling with her character development but her background and personality is planned out. Her full name, funny enough, means Light-Light (Aila Lumina.) Her name is Scottish means ‘light bearer’, ‘oak-tree’ and ‘from a strong place’ and Lumina is Spanish for ‘brilliant light’. Aila is regal, isolated, depressed, strong (physically) and weak (mentally). She’s 21.
Terence, like Skeeter, is well planned out; secrets, background, physical appearance, personal struggles, fears and personality. Terence’s name means ‘Instigator’ which means a person who brings about or initiates something (cause, a process or action, to begin.) Terence is one the most important things in Aila’s life, who guides her on her journey (and looks after Skeeter.) He’s a father figure to both of them as they both grew up without one.
To make my story I had to create a universe and a brand new language; which is just a mash up of already existing languages (Finnish, Norwegian etc.) I had to make races with different physical appearances to creatures made up already (elves, dwarfs etc.) and entirely new ones (The Brann and the Isen, two species what look human but with ice or fire magic.) I made up new religions and Gods to worship; five main ones but one is evil. New places, cities and countries, were also created to make this story work.
The Gods I mention in the story; Isis, Ryva, Ciemis, Kyreus and Maailma are some of the minor characters which don’t appear. They were all human but became Gods after giving their families up. Their descendants are the only one who can defeat Maailma, the evil brother. Every four million years he tries to come into their universe from the shadow realm and only their descendants are the only ones who can stop him. In this story it’s Aila’s turn (A direct descendant from Isis, who’s the Goddess of Light.)
The Tre Turgåere are tree walkers, men who were cursed to turn sickly grey and grow trees and moss out of there body. They are creatures who kill every man, elf, and dwarf in sight. Weirdly, only the Vepkhia are the ones who can get through the forest without any problems.
The Vepkhia are lions, leopards, cheetahs, panthers and tigers that can walk and talk just like the other species can. They live in the Llewelyn Mountains in the main country of Ebrpya and are isolated from the rest of the world. Only a certain few can talk to the Elder.
